worship2

The Lion’s Den worship experience is solely focused on our one true God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where He alone receives ALL the glory!

We have seen a progression of musical worship since Jesus walked the earth.  From the harps and trumpets of His day to hymns, choirs, and now big sound and lights; there has been quite an evolution of style.  Here at The Lion’s Den we have embraced modern worship not as a phony attempt to be “culturally relevant,” but because it's who we are and, like Esther 4:14 , we were created for such a time as this. We have fun with the abilities, talents, and resources He has given us, and we use them by praising Him in an exciting way. We enjoy upbeat music where we lift up the name of God in excitement for what He’s done, and where we can celebrate victory in our lives through Him! Yet we also enjoy passionate worship, laying down everything that we are and remembering who He is. We strive to give all of our hearts, minds, and honor to Him.

At the Lion’s Den, we believe that worship is the expression of our complete devotion to God.  The word worship (or worth-ship) is an old English word that means to attribute great honor and esteem to someone who merits it.  Jesus says, “You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.” Matthew 4:10 . Commonly, worship is considered to be the singing and praising component of a church service.  While that is a large part of it, worship is truly much more than that. God is not interested in forced, repetitive, or nearly robotic forms of worship. He is interested in a heart that cries out to glorify Him. True worship is a life that honors Him; men and women were created to worship God.

Think of it like this:

  •     If God is the creator of the universe, as far out as we can see with modern telescopes and computer imaging (Is 42:5, Is 44:24)
  •     If God is the one who created the earth, and put it in the temperate zone, just far enough away from the sun that water is liquid (not solid or gas) and created the only planet known to sustain life amongst the hundreds of extrasolar planets that we have surveyed (Is 48:13)
  •     If God is the one who created the smallest organisms we can see, with the strongest microscope, even at the atomic level of construction of elements (Acts 17:24 , Col 1:16 , Ps 139:17-18)
  •     If God is the one who orchestrates history from beginning to end (Ps 103:19, Dan 2:20-21 , Acts 17:26 )
  •     If God was before the beginning and will be there at the end (Rev 22:13 )

… then He ALONE deserves to be worshipped (Acts 4:8 ). That is why we worship Him.

Here are just a few Scriptures that show how God has designed us to worship Him (Eph 1:12 and Is 43:6-7).

We are to proclaim the Word of God (1 Tim 4:13 ).

We are to respond gratefully to the truth of the Word of God (Ex 24:3).

We are to remember the Lord's sacrifice through the celebration of communion (1 Cor 11:24 , Acts 2:46 , 47).

We are to live Godly lives (1 Cor 11:2 ).

We are to sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Eph 5:19 ).

We are to pray in the Spirit (Eph 6:18 ).

We are to present our entire selves to God (Rom 12:1 ).

We are to offer a sacrifice of praise (Heb 13:15 ).

We are to confess the name of God (Heb 13:15 ).

We are to do good things (Heb 13:16 ).

We are to be generous and share with others (Heb 13:16 ).

God is worthy of ALL of our praise!  And we are excited to share in this, with you, here at The Lion’s Den.
